Job Description


The Branch Manager performs the overall administrative supervision of all branch office activities including: coordinating and directing daily operations, and directing personnel activities to assure convenient and efficient operation of the staff and branch within the framework of federal and state laws, NCUA regulation and UFCU policies and procedures.

Essential Function Description



Financial Center Management:

  • Responsible for managing the overall ongoing operation of the branch office, including the staffing, training and employee relations of all branch office employees, including performance management.
  • Responsible for the branch staff's delivery of personal financial services through the teller, new accounts, loan closing and electronic delivery systems located at the branch.  Ensure quality service is provided by all branch employees.
  • Submit required reports to management on the achievements of the branch, prepare and submit budget requirements and suggestions for operational improvement including physical appearance and maintenance of the Financial Center.
  • Assist in preparing annual goals, budget and operating plans that are consistent with overall strategic plans and goals of the Credit Union.


Staff Development:

  • Responsible for ongoing coaching and feedback to staff for development purposes including:  individual development plans for staff, measure progress through mystery shoppers, and member feedback as it aligns with UFCU strategic succession plan initiatives.


Sales/Business Development

  • Conduct monthly training, branch, and sales meetings.
  • Market Credit Union products and services to existing Select Employee Groups (SEG) and promote Credit Union membership to non-member employment groups.



  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.



  • Operate the branch office within federal, state, NCUA laws and regulations, and within UFCU policies and procedures.

  • Maintain strict adherence and compliance to all laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures and internal controls specific to your role.




  • High School diploma or equivalent required. 
  • Bachelor’s degree desired or 3-5 years equivalent experience on the job required.


  • Minimum of two (2) years of financial services or retail experience required.
  • Expert knowledge of own discipline and general knowledge of other related disciplines within business unit.
  • Minimum two years of general management experience preferred.

Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, Certifications, etc.

  • Proven ability and demonstrated success in a sales and service role.
  • Proven ability to coach and guide others in a sales and service role.
  • Demonstrated ability as a strong leader, either in a formal or informal capacity.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve difficult situations.
  • Must possess proficient knowledge of UFCU products and services and/or other similar services in a different financial institution.
  • Must be proficient in all MS Office applications.
  • Familiarity with financial services software/systems preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred.
  • Must be bondable.
