The Office of Injured Employee Counsel (OIEC) is the stateagency that helps injured employees with their Texas workers' compensationclaims. The agency assists, educates, and advocates on theirbehalf.  OIEC provides services in 20 offices across thestate.  Agency services include advocacy, customer service, anddispute assistance through OIEC's Ombudsman Program.

DataReporting Analyst (Program Specialist II)

We are looking for a Data Reporting Analyst who is skilled in MicrosoftExcel for the use of data reporting and generating agency reports.  The Data Reporting Analyst will ensure datais translated into visual content (Excel charts and graphs).  Maintains the agency performance measures,reviews data for accuracy, ensures data is auditable and makes certain datadefinitions/calculations are accurate.  Reportsto the Public Counsel and works closely with the agency's Budget Analyst.  This is a temporary position that willend on or before approximately six months after hire.


This position:

-prepares and maintains standard and ad-hoc reports toensure that OIEC meets all agency reporting requirements;

-communicates with requestors to gather, define, andvalidate business requirements necessary to develop reports;

-updates and maintains multiple spreadsheets and reports;
-gathers data from multiple sources;
-accurately inputs data and updates formulas accordingly;

-provides technical assistance and support forinformation management and/or infrastructure operations;

-provides support, coordination, and advice involving thedevelopment, testing, implementation, and maintenance of projects/programs;

-validates current state business process workflows foraccuracy and completeness to model future state business workflows;

-monitors and reports, internally and externally, theagency performance measures; and

-performs other duties as assigned.
 
This position requires: 

-graduation from an accredited four-year college or university. Relevantexperience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.

 

Additionally, thisposition requires:

-twoyears full-time experience in working with advanced level Microsoft Excel in anoffice setting (i.e. macros, queries, formulas, pivot tables, graphs, andcharts). 

 

Preferencesfor this position include experience in:

-State of Texas agency reporting requirements.
 
This position requires demonstrated knowledge of:

-researchand data analysis methodologies.

 
This position requires demonstrated skill in:

-advancedlevel of Microsoft Excel (i.e. macros, queries, formulas, pivot tables, graphs,and charts);

-visualpresentation through charts and graphs to communicate quantitative andqualitative results in a clear, concise, and effective manner;

-complexproblem solving and decision making;

-meticulouswith an eye for detail; and

-workingeffectively across multiple groups and areas.

 
This position requires the demonstrated ability to:

-handle,organize, and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously and consistently meetdeadlines;

-gather,assemble, correlate, communicate, and analyze facts;

-communicateeffectively both verbally and in writing with all levels of employees and thepublic;

-identifyand articulate trends and data quality issues; and

-applycritical thinking to process information logically to help design and providequality reports.
