The Civil/Geotechnical or Environmental Engineer will provide support on various environmental, geotechnical and engineering design projects and environmental regulatory compliance project in the Permian Basin of Texas and New Mexico. Responsibilities include design of impoundments, industrial water recycling and oil-field waters reuse systems design, site development drainage design. Other duties will include environmental compliance program support, engineering support of waste management and remediation projects, hazardous site assessment support, permitting and regulatory compliance, and due diligence. Field investigations and report preparation will be required. Candidate will also interface directly with clients, assist in marketing and proposal writing and work on individual projects.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

•Civil engineering design for oil and gas facility site development;
•Civil engineering design for oil and gas facility impoundments for oil-field water recycling or re-use, storage or disposal;
•Culvert/road crossing design;
•Engineering design of landfills for industrial solid waste storage and disposal;
•Assist other engineers and support staff with environmental and civil engineering design projects including data collection, calculations research and development, etc.;
•Conduct and may eventually Supervise field work and reporting for engineering design projects including field testing and sample/data collection;
•Develop work plans, reports and proposals for various types of investigations and assessments;
•Technical report preparation;
•Research of Regulatory Compliance Initiatives and requirements for compliance and engineering projects; and,
•Support on soil and groundwater remediation planning and implementation.



Qualifications

Qualifications:
Education and Experience: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a minimum of 4 years' experience. B.S. in Civil, or Environmental Engineering from a four-year ABET accredited engineering program required. M.S. in Engineering is a plus. Qualified candidates must have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering or E.I.T. Examination to be considered. 40-hour OSHA training with Hazmat preferred. Experience in the oil and gas environmental, pipeline and/or surface facility design, regulatory experience and water supply industry is plus. Experience with hydrology and hydraulics design is required. Experience with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, StormCAD or similar platforms is required. Experience in environmental consulting including permit development, SPCC planning, and regulatory compliance or related experience is a plus. Candidate must be highly motivated; customers focused and work well in a team environment. Candidate must also have the ability to manage a heavy workload. Candidate must have significant experience and knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3d or similar design software is required;
Must possess client interaction and organizational skills as well as knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, etc. Candidate must be able and available for travel via land and/or air and possess a valid drivers' license in good standing. Travel is expected 25%-50%, however, overnight travel may be reduced if candidate selected is located or able to relocate to Midland, Texas.

Other Skills and/or Requirements:  Some heavy lifting required, including equipment lifting. The ability to set and remove a down-hole pump, bail water from monitor wells, utilize a hand-held bucket type auger for sample collection.
Work will be split between the Midland, TX office and field. Field work will primarily be in West Texas and southeastern New Mexico area and some overnight travel may be required. Field work will be primarily outdoors, exposed to varying weather conditions, while wearing FRC clothing.

Applicants should be fluent in the English language and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and basic computer skills. Applicant should possess excellent technical writing skills.  Applicant should possess excellent mathematical and computation skills.
