    ProSphere is seeking a seasoned Systems Administrator capable of creating plans to assure effective management, operations, and maintenance of systems and/or networks. We are looking for strong knowledge in LINUX including RED HAT. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of a wide variety of Linux technologies to include high volume/high availability systems, configuration management and automation, and extensive troubleshooting skills. We are considering highly technical individuals who possess leadership skills, a positive attitude, and the desire to learn and improve. This is a full-time opportunity located in Austin, Texas.     Responsibilities

    • Administer and maintain all customer servers, in a Windows and Linux environment
    • Monitor and report on infrastructure events and issues – provide corrective action as is required
    • Maintain a 99.999% operational availability not related to any customer related or responsible event
    • Perform monthly security/system patches and updates
    • Participate in technical research and development to enable continuous innovation within the infrastructure
    • Responsible for all assigned LINUX trouble tickets from creation to resolution
    • Ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational standards
    • Troubleshooting all issues that arise relating to Linux systems
    • Train and/or advise mid-level and/or junior-level System Administrators performing similar work
    • Provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems engineering or related technical discipline; (8 years of related experience may be substituted for a degree.)
    • 5+ years of experience as a System Administrator or similar role within a Red Hat Linux or CentOS environment
    • RHCSA certification desirable
    • LINUX based infrastructure installation, maintenance, automation, and troubleshooting experience
    • Understanding of how Load Balancers work
    • Be familiar with HA cluster (Red Hat HA is preferred.)
    • Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible is preferred.)
    • Bash scripting experience
    • Experience providing IT support to multiple work sites
    • Monitoring and configuring alerts specific to Linux systems and applications (Zabbix is preferred.)
    • LDAP experience, Active Directory and Centrify preferred
    • Excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills are required
    • Excellent troubleshooting and problem resolution skills
    • Ability to work independently with minimal direction providing support to multiple users and teams
    • Capable of working under pressure, while handling multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Experience providing services to the federal government is preferred
    • Travel may be required
    • Ability to work overtime required on occasion
    • Ability to sit in an office environment for long periods of time
    • Ability to work independently with minimal direction providing technical and non-technical support to multiple users
    • Capable to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a clearance for persons in a position of public trust conducted by the VA/OPM
