Job Description

Summary: We’re looking for a highly motivated intern to work on the PR and Social and Web Content teams within NFP’s marketing department. The Marketing team is responsible for bringing awareness to NFP products and services through content marketing and distribution, via PR vehicles, the NFP website, as well as NFP’s social media properties and internal communications sites. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Short-form content writing for social media posts and other projects as assigned
  • Long-form content writing for press releases, awards submissions, website content and other projects as assigned
  • Coordinating content for social media platforms, including LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook
  • Interviewing subject matter experts and compiling profiles as needed
  • Research competitors and social presence
  • Collaborate with Content Strategist and the Marketing team to develop social media presence on the website as well as relevant platforms
  • Familiarity with AP style and learning NFP editorial style guidelines
  • Copy editing your own work as well as that of other writers
  • Work within established brand-compliant templates for content layout (sales sheets, white papers, PowerPoint presentations etc.)
  • Participate in campaign brainstorm and content development initiatives
  • Ability to work quickly and manage multiple projects/deadlines at a time
  • Compile and organize data, create clear and concise reports and presentations
  • Create graphics as needed
  • Other duties as assigned


Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:

  • Proficient in writing and editing
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of social media management and reporting platforms is a plus
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe InDesign primarily)
  • Positive attitude and team player
  • Ability to work autonomously and use critical thinking
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)


Education and/or Experience: 

  • Currently enrolled in a four year university pursuing a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related discipline
  • Prefer junior or senior level student
