Position Summary

As the manufacturing electronics technician, you will be responsible for assembling, troubleshooting electronic and electromechanical equipment in a manufacturing team environment. The equipment is designed to be used in a rugged oilfield surface and downhole environment. This position requires excellent electronic and electromechanical assembly and testing skills with proven ability to trouble-shoot to component level.  Keen problem-solving skills and analysis of root cause is critical to the success of this position.


Work schedule is Monday through Friday 6:00AM to 2:30 PM.


Primary Responsibilities:

Assemble and test electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies and modules

Use working knowledge of electronic and electro-mechanical devices to troubleshoot and analyze root cause of failures

Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, assembly prints, and schematics

Read and follow work order routers and work instructions

Operate machines or use hand tools and power tools to secure parts in place

Meet or exceed department metrics including but not limited to safety, quality, delivery and cost

Perform other work-related tasks as assigned

Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures


Facility Specific Responsibilities:

Works to a dispatch report to ensure that jobs are completed in a timely manner

Properly assemble and test functionality of product to verify items sent to the next operation are within specification

Use test equipment and fixtures as required to verify product meets specification

Maintains work area and equipment

Meets safety, quality, delivery, and productivity measures

Follows company policies

Works safely within the shop

Participate in improving efficiency and consistency in the manufacturing process


Qualifications / Requirements:

A high school diploma or equivalent

Associate Degree, Trade School Certification or equivalent required

3  years electronics technician experience required

Knowledge of standard electronic test equipment required



Function Generator

Soldering Skills – surface mount, through hole and wiring

Mechanical Skills (able to use basic hand tools)

Working knowledge of ERP and MRP systems such Oracle and or JDE is a plus

Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel is a plus


Physical Requirements:

Must be able to stand, sit, bend, and reach particularly for sustained periods of time

Able to operate a computer and other office machinery using finger dexterity for typing and writing

Must be able to communicate, converse with, and exchange information by means of the spoken and written word

Able to perform light physical effort to lift or move lightweight materials up to 40 pounds

Visual acuity to view a computer screen and to work on and with printed circuit assemblies using surface mount components and assemblies
