A Senior UX Designer at Macmillan Learning has the unique opportunity to use design and leadership to create impactful learning tools. They do this directly through research with users, understanding their behaviors and motivations.

The design team works across disciplines in higher education, taking on projects such as helping students grasp difficult chemistry concepts, write better papers, or helping instructors find topics where students are struggling.

Things we want a Senior Designer to do:

  1. Use a human-centered approach to design & research

  2. Demonstrate experience leading design through the life-cycle of a product and iterating on ideas quickly

  3. Collaborate closely with a variety of stakeholders

  4. Synthesize insights and tell the story of design to different audiences

  5. Navigate ambiguity with clear self-direction

  6. Foster a culture of design and research within their team and across the company

Things you'll have to have:

  • Knowledge of standard UX software, such as Sketch & InVision.

  • Demonstrated practice leading a variety of design and research projects.

  • Experience in designing complex, interconnected systems using input from a variety of sources.

  • Knowledge of project management tools, like Jira and Confluence, is a plus.

  • No coding experience is required.
