Job title: Hardware Engineer
Job location: Austin, TX
Travel requirement: Up to 10% domestic travel
Responsibilities:
· Oversee the end-to-end design and development of advanced energy storage systems, including inverters, batteries, and microgrid interconnect devices.
· Manage all design phases from initial specifications and architecture through schematic capture, PCB layout, board bring-up, and validation.
· Direct reliability and functional testing to ensure the highest standards of performance and safety.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams in mechanical, firmware, testing, and reliability to transition products from development to high-volume manufacturing.
· Coordinate efforts across teams to meet project timelines and quality benchmarks.
· Lead the design and execution of validation processes for high-voltage and high-current components in inverter, battery, and BMS designs.
· Ensure robust and efficient operation of high-voltage and high-current components under a range of operating conditions.
· Perform system-level debugging to identify, analyze, and resolve complex interactions among hardware components.
· Ensure optimal integration and functionality of all hardware elements within the overall system architecture.
Job Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree, or its foreign equivalent, in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or in a related field, plus 2 years of experience as an electrical engineer, electronics engineer, or in a related role/occupation. In addition, the required prior experience must include:
· 2 years of experience with digital and analog circuit design, including experience with high-voltage circuits and power supply design.
· 2 years of experience with printed circuit board (PCB) design using Altium and initial board bring-up, including debugging, soldering, wiring, and mechanical assembly.
· 2 years of experience working with embedded firmware, microcontrollers and their peripherals, and Python scripting or comparable programming or scripting languages.
· 2 years of experience working with power semiconductor devices, including MOSFETs and IGBTs.
· 2 years of experience working with automotive networking protocols, including CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.
· 2 years of experience using electronic lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, function generators, and power supplies.
