St. David's South Austin Medical Center is part of St. David's HealthCare, one of the largest health systems in Texas, which was recognized with a Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in 2014. St. David's South Austin Medical Center is an acute care facility with 316 beds, offering a range of complex specialties and sub-specialties, including a nationally accredited oncology program with the area's only adult bone marrow transplant program; a trauma program that includes all of the capabilities and programmatic elements of a Level II trauma center to treat the most severely injured and critical patients; a comprehensive cardiac program; full-service maternity and newborn care with Level I and II nurseries; and two full-service emergency centers in the communities of Bee Cave and Bastrop.

Position Summary:
The Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Clinical Pharmacist Specialist provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care to the bone marrow transplant patients through integrated drug distribution, clinical services, research and teaching.  Provides this care to Bone Marrow Transplant and Oncology patients in our clinic.


The major job responsibilities of this position are: pharmaceutical care to BMT patients, collaborative practice agreement with providers, drug distribution support, clinical intervention, investigational drug studies, teaching and pharmacy representation in Medical Center Committees.


Required: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college or university; Pharm D Degree; Maintains competency in unique aspects of drug therapy for the bone marrow transplant patients, including factors related to age and disease states.



Required:  Completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency with experience in BMT.
Preferred: A specialized clinical residency in Oncology with experience in BMT and/or Board Certification in Oncology Practice.


Required: Current Texas Pharmacist License
