POSITION SUMMARY:                                                                                   

Under direct supervision by the Administrative Director of Laboratory Services and the Medical Director is responsible for day to day operational oversight of the clinical laboratory.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:                                                            

Must be able to demonstrate understanding of HCA's and St. David's “Patient First” safety initiative by strict compliance to all safety protocols and procedures. Must possess a general understanding of laboratory procedures/policies; technical expertise in at least one section; demonstration of leadership skills and effective communication skills required; thorough knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements.



Required:Graduation from an approved school of medical technology.   Must be registered with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, CLS (NCA) , MLT or MT (AMT) or equivalent.

Preferred:Bachelor's degree in a laboratory discipline or management.


LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES:                                                                                  

Required:Registry equivalent to MT or MLT (ASCP) or CLS (NCA)                     

Preferred:Specialty Registration in relative discipline.  (H, SH, C, SC, I, M, SM, DLM, etc.)
