The Cath Lab Tech assists in all procedures performed in the cath lab area. The Cath Lab Technologist provides a safe patient care environment that aids in the diagnosis and treatment of patients experiencing cardiac procedures. The Cath Lab tech maintains and operates the physiological systems, assists physicians during the procedures, and performs unit-based activities, which contribute to a positive and professional work environment. The Cath Lab Tech demonstrates the ability to function in all of the positions with the exception of nursing. Essential information is shared through documentation and verbal communication.
The Cath Lab Tech will participate in continuous process improvement activities in the unit.
Employee must be available for all schedules cases and be able to reach the hospital within 30-minutes when on call.
Education: Experience: License/Certification:
Preferred: ARRT, RCIS, or Certified OR tech: BLS; ACLS
Preferred: Two years prior Cath Lab experience, performing both diagnostic and interventional procedures.
Required: If RT, require current TDH license/ARRT
Preferred: CVT or RT with 2 years Cath Lab experience
