Favor is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant who has a real passion for working at high-growth start-ups. We’re looking for a detail oriented, roll-up-your-sleeves, smart and high-energy person who seeks to make a positive impact on the company’s accounting operations. You will have accounting operational experience in the tech industry and previous experience with an audit firm (Big 4 preferred). The position will be expected to contribute to process improvements and automation opportunities while handling many of the day to day accounting operations of the company.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Assist with monthly and year-end close procedures and financial statement analysis
Maintain and perform reconciliations of revenue and company processes to ensure accurate reporting to management
Responsible for timely payments and managing account information with all vendors and suppliers
Responsible for inventory and depreciation of all physical assets, including tracking of physical location
Assist in the timely filing of all regulatory forms, including local, state, and federal income, employment, property and franchise taxes
Collaborate with other departments to facilitate the timely and accurate receipt of financial data
Formulate and recommend system and process changes through evaluation, analysis of controls, and application of GAAP
Assist with the annual audit process by providing schedules and responding to inquiries from external auditors
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business with an accounting emphasis; Master’s degree preferred
4-7 years progressive accounting experience
A combination of public accounting and operational accounting industry experience such as GL maintenance and month-end close review is preferred
CPA strongly preferred
Qualifications & Skills
Solid foundation of accounting concepts and research and application of accounting standards in accordance with GAAP
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment
Ability to multi-task, possess a high level of intellectual curiosity and passion, be agile and work well in a dynamic environment
Strong, consistent work ethic with a keen attention to details and ability to focus on the big picture
Proven ability to implement continuous process improvements
You would be able to communicate with confidence and tact across all levels within the company
Advanced level of Microsoft Excel is a requirement
