Overall Job Objective
|Job Title:||Truck Driver|
|Location:||Public Works/Engineering/Street Operations Building - Killeen, Texas|
|To operate trucks utilized in construction, maintenance, and repair activities and perform a variety of semiskilled tasks in the maintenance of light, street, water, sewer, and storm drainage systems.|
|Operates trucks of various sizes and weights in the loading, hauling and unloading of various equipment, materials and supplies.|
Operates construction and power equipment.
Performs routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and cleans equipment.
Installs street signs and places pavement markings.
Cleans curbs, gutters, and drainage ditches.
Inspects curbs, streets, and gutters for necessary repairs.
Calculates loads and adjusts to legal standards.
Spreads and unloads asphalt.
Directs traffic in congested areas around construction sites.
Controls traffic at work sites by flagging to guide traffic through work areas, as required or assigned.
Adheres to assigned work schedule as outlined in the Department and City attendance policies and procedures; ensures all behaviors comply with the City's Personnel Rules and Regulations; possesses and maintains a valid driver's license and comply with City of Killeen driving policy accordingly.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Performs all On-Call assignments as outlined in the On-Call Schedule and Department policy.

Motorized vehicles and equipment, including post hole digger, pick-up truck, utility truck, compactor, saws, pumps, common hand and power tools, shovels, radio, needed safety equipment and front-end loaders.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
