Job Title:Crime Statistical Analyst

Location: Police Department - Killeen, Texas
 
Performs a variety of routine statistical and, administrative work in support of law enforcement activities.
 Essential Duties:
Assists in the preparation of a variety of detailed reports and records.

Receives incoming calls, determines nature and urgency of calls, and coordinates appropriate response.

Composes a variety of correspondence, reports and other materials requiring independent judgment as to content, accuracy and completeness.

Establishes and maintains records systems using moderately independent judgment.

Maintains and enters data into data base system.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Serves on various committees as necessary.
 Required Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with a degree in sociology, mathematics, statistics or a closely related field;
  2. One (1) year of experience; or,
  3. An equivalent combination of education and experience.

 Supplemental Information:

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must pass a thorough background investigation and complete a polygraph examination.
 
Must have a valid driver's license by date of hire.
 
Must obtain and maintain a Texas Driver's License within 60 days of hire

No licenses or certifications are required.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
 
  1. Some knowledge of modern law enforcement principles, procedures, techniques, and  equipment;
  2. Some skill in the operation of equipment listed below;
  3. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing;
  4. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with subordinates, peers and
  5. supervisors;
  6. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions;
  7. Ability to perform routine mathematics calculations;
  8. Ability to analyze and categorize statistical data;
  9. Ability to use Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Office programs;
  10. Ability to use modern police records management system software.

Personal computer and related hardware; including word processing and specialized software, phone, calculator, fax machine, copy machine.
