The Position

The City of Cedar Park is seeking qualified applicants for the positions of Treatment Operator I and Treatment Operator II  to support our Water Treatment Plant. 
  • Operates and maintains the city water treatment facilities as required by city, state, and federal guidelines;
  • Records plant telemetry information from satellite pumping stations, and maintains records of water treatment facility operations;
  • Performs routine inspections of water treatment facilities, monitors pumps, tanks, valves, appurtenances, chemicals, clarifiers and filters, visually and with computer system, and adjusts equipment and chemicals to maintain specified operating conditions;
  • Monitors distribution for the plant with the Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) System;
  • May use work order management system (Lucity); and
  • Performs such other related duties as may be assigned.

Acceptable Experience, Training, Certifications and Licenses

Treatment Operator I:  
High School Diploma or its equivalent, plus two (2) years of experience in water treatment operations;
Or  any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
 
Water Treatment - Class C Surface Water Certification (or greater) from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), required.
 
Treatment Operator II:  
High School Diploma or its equivalent, plus four (4) years of experience in water treatment operations; 
Or  any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Water Treatment -  Class B Surface Water Treatment License (TCEQ), required.
 

Supplemental Information

Valid Texas Driver's License applicable to job responsibilities, with an acceptable driving record.

Treatment Operator I Compensation Range: 
$19.50 to $22.38 per hour, depending on experience

Treatment Operator II Compensation Range: 
$19.50 to $23.49 per hour, depending on experience
