The Corporate Finance Office (CFO) is currently seeking an Accounts Payable Supervisor for the Washington, D.C./Crystal City, VA or Austin, Texas office. The CFO is a dynamic workplace within AIR with a clear agenda to develop a service-oriented organization in line with the business and is composed of a strong team of co-workers.

    The Accounts Payable Supervisor will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and leading the Accounts Payable (AP) function in accordance with established policies and procedures. This role will supervise and provide leadership to AP staff including coaching, mentoring, and employee development.


    •Lead the accounts payable team to reach processing objectives while ensuring adherence to internal controls and with a strong focus on customer service.
    •Provide guidance and support to AP team members.
    •Review and post accounts payable transactions ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
    •Coordinate the bi-weekly check run and initiate ACH and positive pay file transmissions.
    •Provide employees with training, feedback and career development counseling to enhance performance.
    •Utilize metrics and staff feedback to identify outreach/training needs within the organization.
    •Collaborate with the management team to identify and implement best practices and process improvements.
    •Liaison with Business Systems and IT to troubleshoot systems.
    •Perform other duties as assigned.


    •Strong leadership abilities including coaching, mentoring and employee development skills
    •Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field or commensurate experience
    •Minimum of 5 – 8 years successively more responsible accounts payable roles
    •Working knowledge of Federal cost accounting principles
    •Demonstrated ability to provide a high level of customer service in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
    •Strong communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills
    •Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and to self-motivate
    •Strong analytical/problem solving skills
    •Demonstrated dependability and willingness to take on projects and complete them in a timely manner
