Job Description

We are seeking a Software Developer to be responsible for developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining web-based application systems for an Austin based tech company. You will troubleshoot system problems and issues and look for ways to improve the application.

The right candidate should be able to execute the following tasks and more:

– Strong knowledge of PHP web frameworks and design patterns
– Integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers
– Usage of Symfony2 and Vagrant/Docker
– Experience in E-commerce: Magento, WooCommerce, Shopify, etc.
– Working knowledge of data structures, algorithms and ability to write clean, scalable, robust and reusable code
– Experience working with PCI compliant code and payment gateways
– Knowledge of standards-based web development and browser/cross-platform
– Experienced with responsive web development techniques
– Ability to adapt and pick up new technologies
– Solid understanding of security compliance, common web server exploits and their solutions

Additional skill-sets that we like:

– Familiarity with HTML5, CSS3, SASS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, Vue JS and other JS frameworks
– Knowledge of nginz and PHP-FPM
– Strong sense of ownership and urgency
– Critical thinking skills, high attention to details, ability to set priorities, and meet deadlines
– A demonstrated ability to wrap your mind around complex technological issues
– A proven capability to get things done and a knack for multitasking
– Experience with high-availability and data-rich applications
– An eye for good code and coding practices


– 2+ years as a backend developer using PHP 5, MySQL/PostgreSQL
– 2+ years deploying sophisticated web applications
– Bachelor’s degree of higher
– Must be a self-starter, can stay motivated and enjoy working independently as well as group settings
