The Art Institute of Austin is a branch of The Art Institute of Houston and part of The Art Institutes system of schools, America's Leader In Creative Education.

We are located in Austin, Texas, the state capital and fourth-largest city in the state. Our students are able to do imaginative thinking and studying in a city known for its creativity and originality. Austin is a vibrant spot that celebrates being cosmopolitan and unpretentious; high-tech and low-key; big city and college town. Austin was selected as the #2 Best Big City in "Best Places to Live" by Money magazine in 2006 and the #1 College Town by the Travel Channel. This is an independent, unassuming spot proven by the unofficial slogan locals use "Keep Austin Weird," referring to the spirit of the city and the vibrant network of locally-owned businesses. If the free spirited nature of the city isn't enough for students, the weather certainly is. Austin boasts 300 days of sunshine each year and offers plenty of outdoor activities to take advantage of those days.

Career Services

The Art Institute of Austin educates and prepares students through hands-on learning using industry-related equipment. Our knowledgeable faculty bring their real-world experience into the classroom, preparing our students to seek entry-level positions in their chosen fields. Your classroom experience is complemented by Mac and PC computer labs, a library, and a student supply store.

Each program is offered on a year-round basis, allowing you to continue your work uninterrupted until graduation. Programs are created with the support and contributions of leading members of the professional community. Curricula are reviewed periodically to ensure they meet the needs of a changing marketplace.

The Art Institute of Austin offers selected online courses through a consortium agreement with The Art Institute of Pittsburgh – Online Division. Online classes are 5-1/2 weeks in length and have the same course and exit competencies as the on-ground version of the same course.
